Mississauga, Ontario – Infiniti has presented the Canadian debut of its Etherea concept vehicle, and the regional premiere of the JX, at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto.
The Etherea is a luxury compact model that “previews how a future entry-level Infiniti could look,” the company said, blending coupe, sedan, hatchback and even crossover styling into one sculptural form.
“Etherea was designed to project both an evolving Infiniti identity and a profile that is distinctly different from any current vehicle available on the market,” said Wendy Durward, director of Infiniti Canada. “Etherea’s segment-busting style exhibits the inspiration behind all Infiniti products and is a sign of new and exciting things to come from Infiniti.”
The Etherea uses a supercharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine producing 245 horsepower, along with an electric motor for silent, emission-free driving at low speeds. The four-seat cabin is accessed by four wide-opening doors that are rear-hinged at the back.
The company’s display will also include the 2013 Infiniti JX luxury crossover and the championship-winning RB7 Red Bull Racing Formula 1 car.
