Nashville, Tennessee – Infiniti has announced extensive changes to its G models for 2009, including an all-new G37 Convertible model, slated to launch in the first quarter of 2009.
Other changes include a new 328-horsepower 3.7-litre V6 for the Infiniti G sedan, which is now renamed the G37 Sedan; a new all-wheel drive coupe, the G37x; and a new available seven-speed automatic transmission for all G models.
“A little success makes you want to try harder,” said Ben Poore, Infiniti vice-president of marketing. “A lot of success makes you want to blow the doors off the competition again, which we’re poised to do with the new, intensified Infiniti G line-up for 2009. Year after year we strive to offer our customers one of the freshest product line-ups in the industry, which we’ve done again in 2009 with the new second-generation Infiniti FX, upcoming G Convertible and the enhanced G37 Coupe and G37 Sedan.”
Based on the G37 Coupe, the G Convertible features a three-piece automatic retracting hardtop, available unique interior treatment, and enhanced audio and HVAC systems for top-up or top-down performance. The new model is scheduled to make its world debut at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show in November.
