Inaugural RM Hershey Auction brings US$12.3 million in sales

Blenheim, Ontario – An inaugural auction held by RM Classic Cars in conjunction with the Antique Automobile Club of America’s (AACA) fall meet in Hershey, Pennsylvania last week brought a total of $12.3 million in sales (all prices U.S.). As well, a gala event to raise money for the AACA Museum brought over $150,000.

Heading the sale was a 1911 Oldsmobile Limited 7-Passenger touring car, offered in original unrestored condition. Believed to be one of only three known surviving examples, the car achieved a final sale price of $1.65 million.

Other sale toppers included a 1929 Duesenberg Model J Dual-Cowl Phaeton, which also sold for $1.65 million; a 1933 Stutz DV32 Dual-Cowl Phaeton at $797,500; a DuPont Model G four-passenger Le Mans Speedster at $704,000; and a 1912 Locomobile 6-48 Model M for $660,000.
