Hyundai’s January sales jump 20%
After a 52% increase in sales in 2001 over 2000, Hyundai continues its strong sales trend in 2002 with another 20% in increase in January 2002 vs. January 2001. The biggest increase was with the recently redesigned Elantra which experienced a 103% increase in January over the same month last year.
Furthermore, the newly redesigned 2002 Sonata that has had great gains since its introduction last fall did not let up in January reporting a 42% increase over the same month last year. Hyundai expects these increases will multiply with the arrival of the exciting all new 2003 Tiburon late in January 2002.
Steve Kelleher, President and CEO states, “We are confident that 2002 will be another exciting year for Hyundai as we continue our positive sales trend with high quality vehicles offering the best value in the industry today.”
