Hyundai’s Alabama plant receives ISO certification

Montgomery, Alabama – Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama LLC has achieved Certification to the International Automotive Task Force’s most rigid quality management standard, ISO/TS 16949. The standard marks a set of Quality Management System requirements specific to the automotive industry, and is the highest automotive operating standard in the world.

The plant, which began production on May 20, 2005, produces the Hyundai Sonata and Santa Fe. The benefits of the certification include improving quality of processes at the facility, along with streamlining supply chains, both of which lead to a better overall product.
