Hyundai launches new consumer Web site

Markham, Ontario – Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. has announced it has launched an all-new consumer Web site, available at the same address as its previous site, HyundaiCanada.com.

“In the automotive industry, an effective consumer Web site has never been more important than it is today,” says John Vernile, Hyundai Auto Canada’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. A 2006 Canadian Consumer Retail Study conducted by J.D. Power and Associates found that 90 per cent of respondents to the study went online before visiting a dealership. The percentage of consumers using the Internet rose from 49 per cent in 2005 to 64 percent in 2006, and was cited as a research tool by 62 per cent of respondents. As well, 57 per cent of consumers reported taking information from manufacturers’ Web sites to retailers when shopping for a new vehicle.

The new site includes additional shots of each vehicle in the redesigned Showrooms Gallery; animations for each vehicle; an interactive dealer locator; a more user-friendly build and price component; and downloadable brochures.
