Markham, Ontario – The 2011 Hyundai Equus has become the fifth vehicle in the company’s lineup to be named a Top Safety Pick by the U.S. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
The Hyundai Genesis, Santa Fe, Sonata and Tucson were named to the IIHS in December 2010.
“Winning this award with our flagship Equus is a testament to our ability to stand alongside the most celebrated marques in the industry,” said Steve Kelleher, president and CEO of Hyundai Canada. “But in traditional Hyundai fashion, we’re making the same cutting-edge safety technology accessible to consumers in every segment we compete in. The upcoming 2012 Accent, for example, will offer best-in-class safety equipment as standard despite being our least-expensive model.”
