Las Vegas, Nevada – Hyundai has unveiled its new Blue Link, a telematics platform exclusive to Hyundai models that will offer more than 30 unique connectivity features on future models. The company said that Blue Link will be available on all future Hyundai models, starting with the Sonata and all-new Veloster two-door coupe later this year.
Among the features available at launch will be a maintenance alert that helps drivers identify and schedule service; an “Eco-Coach” that improves efficient driving; restaurant ratings; and a remote door lock or unlock capability. Other features will include remote vehicle start, stolen vehicle slowdown, and a “geofence” that will send a text if a driver has ventured outside prescribed borders or time constraints.
As part of the Blue Link launch, Hyundai will also provide Blue Link Assurance on vehicles equipped with Blue Link. This includes core safety services for an introductory period, such as automatic crash notification and assistance, SOS emergency assistance and enhanced roadside assistance. Drivers will be able to extend the services after the introductory period with subscription fees.
