Torrance, California – The HondaJet, an advanced light jet that went on sale from Honda last month, has won Popular Science magazine’s 2006 “Best of What’s New” award in the Aviation & Space category. It was chosen from dozens of aviation products for its breakthrough design and innovative features.
The HondaJet, which recently entered the “very light jet” market, features better fuel efficiency, larger cabin and luggage space, and higher cruise speed than conventional aircraft in its class. Among its innovations are a patented over-the-wing engine mount, natural-laminar flow wing and fuselage nose, and all-composite fuselage structure.
Honda also won a Popular Science award in the automotive category for the Fit.
