Greensboro, North Carolina – Honda Aircraft Company Inc. has announced that it has expanded sales of its HondaJet throughout North America, with a direct sales and service support plan for the Canadian market. The new eight-person jet, Honda’s first-ever commercial aircraft, will compete in the Very Light Jet market and is expected to be delivered to Canadian customers by 2012.
“This is an important step to have our business plan in place in Canada,” said Michimasa Fujino, president and CEO of Honda Aircraft Company Inc. “We are confident that we have established the basis for exceptional support that will provide our customers with unparalleled quality and convenience.”
HondaJet sales to Canada will be handled directly from the company’s headquarters in North Carolina, with service support provided through the U.S. HondaJet service facilities closest to the Canadian customer’s location.
U.S. sales of the new jet began in October 2006, with more than 100 orders received. The company is expected to begin those deliveries in 2010.
