Torrance, California – HondaJet, an innovative advanced light jet, will go on sale for the first time at the National Business Aviation Association annual meeting and convention in Orlando, Florida in October. The jet features a revolutionary over-the-wing engine mount, and a larger cabin, more luggage space, better fuel efficiency and higher cruise speed than conventional aircraft in its class.
Honda previously announced that it would accept orders for the 6- to 7-passenger jet in the fall of 2006. Honda Aircraft Company Inc. was established in August 2006 for the development, production and sales of HondaJet, and will pursue FAA-type certification and production certification in the U.S. The company’s goal is to complete certification in three to four years, followed by the start of production and delivery of the first plane in 2010.
