Toronto, Ontario – Honda has announced that the Canadian-built MDX will receive new exterior styling for 2010, along with a revised powertrain that includes a new engine and six-speed automatic transmission.
“The Acura MDX has been a leader in the intermediate luxury SUV segment, with sales up this year, and the new 2010 MDX is designed to strengthen its place in this segment,” said Jerry Chenkin, executive vice-president of Honda Canada. “The enhanced appearance and new powertrain, along with new customer-relevant technologies, make MDX a leading-edge vehicle choice for Canadians.”
The 2010 model receives Acura’s signature design front grille, new fascias, revised hood, brighter taillights, and new side sills. Ride and handling have been enhanced with a revised power steering system, stiffer rear trailing arm mounting, and body rigidity improvements.
A new 3.7-litre V6 engine develops 300 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque, coupled to an all-new six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode.
The new model will go on sale across Canada at the beginning of December, with pricing to be announced in late October.
