Toronto, Ontario – Honda Canada will recall 2,064 Civic Hybrid vehicles, model years 2006 and 2007, to replace a component in the hybrid control system.

On affected vehicles, the DC to DC converter, a component of the Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) hybrid control system. may experience an internal failure that could lead to engine stalling and malfunction of the headlights. No crashes or injuries related to this defect have been reported, the company said.

Honda will notify owners of affected vehicles by mail starting later this month, and encourages them to take their vehicles to an authorized dealer as soon as they receive notification. To determine if a vehicle requires repair, call 1-888-946-6329.
