Edmonton, Alberta – Honda Canada has presented $56,021 to Wounded Warriors, which offers support programs to injured Canadian soldiers, from donations collected at the Honda Indy Toronto and Rexall Edmonton Indy in July.

The presentation was made prior to the start of the Rexall Edmonton Indy, attended by Canadian race driver Paul Tracy, who wore the Wounded Warriors logo on his race suit and car.

Honda matched the donations from race fans in Toronto and Edmonton dollar-for-dollar. Money was raised through such activities as tire change competition, and a chance to sign Tracy’s suit in return for a donation.

“We’re pleased to match the monies raised by Canada’s race fans for Wounded Warriors.ca,” said Jerry Chenkin, executive vice-president of Honda Canada. “We wanted to show our support for the courageous Canadian soldiers serving overseas, and to support the Wounded Warriors.ca cause to help fund their many programs assisting our injured soldiers and their families.”
