Toronto, Ontario – Honda has issued a recall for certain 2011 Honda Civic and Acura CSX models in Canada to inspect and possibly replace the fuel pump inside the gasoline tank.
The recall affects 3,636 Civics and nine CSX models.
Internal testing has revealed that the rollover valve inside certain fuel pump modules may have been damaged during production. If the vehicle is involved in a rollover crash, the cracked valve may allow fuel to leak from the gasoline tank into the evaporative canister. No crashes or injuries have been reported related to this defect.
Honda will notify customers beginning in mid-April and encourages owners of affected vehicles to take them to an authorized dealer as soon as they receive notification. Owners can determine if their vehicles are affected by contacting a dealer or calling Honda at 1-888-946-6329.
