Honda introduces natural gas Civic in U.S.
Torrance, California – Honda has announced its Civic GX, which it says it is the only dedicated natural gas-powered passenger car available to retail customers in the U.S.
The GX produces near-zero emissions, qualifies for a US$4,000 federal tax credit and can be refuelled with a home-based appliance, available through some California Honda dealers. The company says the GX achieves an estimated equivalent of 7.0 L/100 km (40 mpg Imp), and that natural gas is 35 per cent less expensive than gasoline when purchased at a station, and can be more than 50 per cent cheaper when supplied by the home refuelling appliance.
