Honda Fit sales reach two million units worldwide since 2001

Tokyo, Japan – Honda has announced that the worldwide cumulative sales of the Fit reached two million units at the end of June 2007. Known as the Jazz in Asia and Europe, the Fit was released in Japan in June 2001 and was the country’s best-selling car in 2002.
Now in its seventh year, the current-generation Fit is still one of Japan’s top-selling vehicles. It is currently sold in 115 countries, manufactured at six facilities in five different countries, and delivered to some 400,000 customers annually.
Honda estimates that it has sold 962,000 units in Japan since 2001; it has sold 77,000 units in North America since it was introduced in April 2006. The Fit has also sold 151,000 units in South America since its 2003 introduction, and 173,000 units in China since September 2004.
