Torrance, California – The 2007 Honda Fit has earned the top five-star safety rating for frontal crash performance from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The Fit has dual front side airbags, side-curtain airbags and anti-lock brakes as standard equipment on all models, plus three-point seat belts at all seating positions.
Honda states that the Fit’s hood and fender areas are also designed to help absorb energy, and to reduce pedestrian injuries in a vehicle-pedestrian collision. The company’s U.S. office says it will complete the first phase of its “Safety for Everyone” initiative this year by voluntarily putting extensive levels of standard safety equipment on all its vehicles, with the exception of the low-volume S2000 and Insight models.
