Richmond Hill, Ontario – The Honda Civic and Ford F-Series topped the Canadian passenger car and light truck sales for May, according to industry analyst Dennis DesRosiers.

DesRosiers noted that small, entry-level vehicles are “struggling this year,” with subcompact cars down 25.3 per cent in May, and down 21.2 per cent year-to-date to the end of May, while compact cars were down 9.9 per cent in May, and down 0.1 per cent year-to-date.

The top ten best-selling passenger cars in May, in order, were the Honda Civic, Mazda3, Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Elantra, Hyundai Accent, Chevrolet Cobalt, Ford Focus, Toyota Matrix, Ford Fusion and Nissan Versa.

Year-to-date to the end of May, the top ten were the Honda Civic, Mazda3, Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Elantra, Hyundai Accent, Toyota Matrix, Chevrolet Cobalt, Ford Focus, Ford Fusion and Volkswagen Golf.

The top ten best-selling light trucks in May, in order, were the Ford F-Series, Dodge Caravan, Ford Escape, Dodge Ram, GMC Sierra, Chevrolet Silverado, Hyundai Santa Fe, Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Dodge Journey.

Year-to-date to the end of May, the top ten were the Ford F-Series, Dodge Caravan, Dodge Ram, GMC Sierra, Ford Escape, Chevrolet Silverado, Honda CR-V, Hyundai Santa Fe, Toyota RAV4 and Ford Ranger.
