Richmond Hill, Ontario – The Honda Civic and Ford F-Series were the top-selling car and truck in Canada in August, according to industry analyst Dennis DesRosiers.
“The Honda Civic and Mazda3 are fighting it out for best-selling passenger car, with the Civic holding a slight edge on the month and the year-to-date,” DesRosiers said. “Civic is down most months this year and the ‘3’ is up most months, so this battle won’t be decided until the end of the year. Civic is leading by about a thousand units year-to-date.”
DesRosiers said that while the F-Series has increased its sales by 19.9 per cent year-to-date, “it is the Ram pickup that is gaining the most with sales up 87.5 per cent year-to-date. It is a good truck, like all its competitors, and Chrysler has been aggressive with incentives so it is selling incredibly well.”
