Lincoln, Alabama – Honda Manufacturing of Alabama reached a production milestone last week, building the one-millionth Honda vehicle and V6 engine in Alabama. The vehicle was a Midnight Blue Pearl Metallic 2007 Odyssey EXL minivan.
The one-millionth vehicle comes less than five years after the start of mass production at the US$1.3 billion facility, which started on November 14, 2001. The plant is the sole production source of the Odyssey minivan; in October, Honda announced that the plant will also become the sole production source of the Pilot SUV. The plant employs more than 4,500 workers on two assembly lines.
