Toronto, Ontario – Honda’s North American plants, including Alliston, Ontario, will resume normal production on December 1, 2011. Production was affected by flooding in Thailand, which disrupted the supply of parts.
While the flooding still continues to affect the supply, Honda has worked closely with its suppliers to fully re-establish parts for its products made in North America.
In 2010, 92 per cent of the Honda and Acura vehicles sold in Canada were produced in North America. While most of the parts and materials used are purchased from North American suppliers, a few critical electronic parts are sourced from Thailand and other global regions.
