Harley-Davidson to open dealership in China

Milwaukee, Wisconsin – Harley-Davidson has announced its first authorized dealership in China, with the appointment of Beijing Feng Huo Lun (FHL) on the country’s mainland. The dealership will offer motorcycles, related products and service.

Beijing Harley-Davidson will initially have 14 staff members; FHL is a well-established retailer of imported motorcycles in China. The dealership will celebrate its official grand opening in early April, and will offer rider training, organized rides and events. Harley-Davidson expects its market entry into China to be a gradual process, with the leisure-oriented market for premium, heavyweight motorcycles just beginning to emerge in China. Market development is currently limited by ownership and riding restrictions in most large cities and on highways, and by limited but growing disposal income. The company has announced a long-term strategy to address the riding restrictions over time, and to help lead development of the premium heavyweight motorcycle market as consumer buying power grows.
