Green Book Online announces best and worst of 2006

Washington, D.C. – The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE), sponsor of Green Book Online, has announced its most fuel-efficient “Greenest Vehicles of 2006”, along with its list of “Meanest Vehicles for the Environment”.

The Greenest Vehicles, in order, are the Honda Insight (1.0-litre), Honda Civic GX (1.7-litre with compressed natural gas), Toyota Prius (1.5-litre), Honda Civic Hybrid (1.3-litre), Toyota Corolla (1.8-litre), Hyundai Accent (1.6-litre), Kia Rio/Rio5 (1.6-litre), Honda Civic (1.8-litre), Mazda3 (2.0-litre), Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix (2.0-litre), Chevrolet Cobalt (2.2-litre) and Saturn Ion (2.2-litre).

The “Meanest” vehicles, in order, are the Dodge Ram SRT10 (8.3-litre), Lamborghini Murcielago (6.2-litre), Bentley Arnage (6.8-litre), Dodge Durango (4.7-litre), Dodge Ram 1500 (4.7-litre), Maybach 57S (6.0-litre), Hummer H2 (6.0-litre), Ferrari F141 (5.9-litre), Ford F-250 (5.4-litre), GMC Yukon XL 2500 (6.0-litre), Volkswagen Touareg (4.2-litre) and Chevrolet Suburban 2500 (6.0-litre).
