Up-market seven-passenger crossover could be based on Durango, Grand Cherokee
Mike Manley, president of the Jeep brand, is keen to have a new range topping SUV in its range of offerings. The model, to be called Grand Wagoneer, will be an up-market, luxury seven-passenger model with more creature comforts than the deceased Jeep Commander.
Manley mentioned to Auto Express the new model would be “full-size” and “bigger than the old Commander.”
A new Grand Wagoneer is expected to be built upon a stretched version of the same platform underpinning the Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee. And Jeep has great aspirations for the model, possibly pricing it against German competition in the $65-100k price bracket.
