GM to recall 65,000 Trailblazer, Envoy and Bravada SUV’s
Detroit, Michigan – General Motors announced a recall of approximately 65,000 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer, GMC Envoy, and Oldsmobile Bravada midsize sport utility vehicles built during a nine-week period in 2001.
These vehicles have fuel line connector fittings that may disconnect at the fuel filter outlet. There have been no reports of fire, claims of property damage, crashes, or injuries related to this condition. The only midsize SUVs affected were those built during September, October, and the first week of November of 2001.
GM traced the condition to a connector-fitting retainer that did not latch onto the fuel filter tube as intended. Owners will be notified about this recall and the precautions they should take until their vehicles are repaired. GM will ask owners of these vehicles to bring them in to their Chevrolet, GMC, and Oldsmobile dealers. They will replace the fuel filter connect retainers on all involved vehicles at no cost to the customers.
