GM to debut five new vehicles at L.A. auto show
Los Angeles, California – GM announced it will unveil five new vehicles at the Los Angeles auto show during media days, December 29th and 30th, 2003. Public show dates are January 2 to 11, 2004.
“General Motors is aggressively leading the way with the World debuts of four 2005 production models, the Saab 9-2, Buick Terazza, Chevrolet Cobalt and Saturn Relay, plus the Hummer Concept,” said Andy Fuzesi, general manager of the LA Auto Show. “We’re pleased one of the Detroit Big Three is putting a major emphasis on the LA Auto Show in order to reach a key trend-setting market.”
The Los Angeles show has traditionally taken a back seat to the Detroit auto show when it comes to new vehicle introductions, even though Los Angeles is the centre of America’s largest car market and the show takes place a week or two before the Detroit show. GM’s unveilings may signal a change in the way automakers view the L.A. venue.
Other new models to be shown at the L.A. Auto Show include the U.S. version of the 2005 Lotus Elise, Porsche’s exotic supercar, the Carrera GT, the all-new Maserati Quattroporte, and BMW’s 6-series coupe, among others.
