GM selects sole European distributor for Hummer
Detroit, Michigan – General Motors has selected Kroymans Corporation B.V. to develop and manage a European dealership network that will sell Hummer products in 27 countries beginning in late 2006. Kroymans, based in Hilversum, the Netherlands, is already the European distributor for Cadillac and Corvette.
Kroymans plans to set up more than 50 dealerships dedicated solely to marketing Hummer products, including 15 special Hummer centres based in larger metropolitan areas.
A key product will be the new Hummer H3, which recently made its European debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Sales will begin in Europe in the second half of 2005 and initially will be offered with a Vortec 3.5-litre inline five-cylinder engine. As part of its growth plan, Hummer will eventually produce a global version with added features and content specifically for markets outside North America.
