GM of Canada introduces Pontiac’s first SUV
Oshawa, Ontario – General Motors of Canada has announced pricing for the all-new 2006 Pontiac Torrent, the brand’s first SUV. Expected to arrive in dealerships this fall, the base front-wheel-drive model will begin at $26,585, while the base all-wheel-drive model is $29,195.

Standard features will include five-passenger seating, 16-inch aluminum wheels, air conditioning, power locks and windows, six-speaker CD stereo, flat-folding front passenger seat, electric power steering, fog lamps and dual-stage frontal air bags. Available options will include leather interior, heated seats, six-CD/MP3 player, power sunroof and OnStar.
The Torrent will carry a 3.4-litre V6 engine, producing 185 hp and 210 lb-ft of torque, with a five-speed automatic transmission. All models will receive Pontiac’s Sport Suspension.
