Shanghai, China – General Motors has become the first global automaker to sell two million vehicles in China in a single year. The company sold 199,641 vehicles in October alone, an increase of 19.6 per cent from the same period in 2009 and an all-time high for the month.
“This is another important milestone for General Motors in China,” said Kevin Wale, president and managing director of the GM China Group. “It was only three years ago that GM became the first global automaker to reach the one million annual sales mark in China.”
The company sells its Chevrolet, Buick and Cadillac brands in China.
