GM engineer receives “Asian American Engineer of the Year” award

Detroit, Michigan – General Motors’ senior staff engineer Dr. Yucong Wang has been honoured with the 2006 Asian American Engineer of the Year Award, presented by the Chinese Institute of Engineers, for his contributions to GM Engineering and his ongoing support to his local Chinese community.

Dr. Wang currently holds at least 30 patents for his inventions and has authored over 60 technical publications. He received GM’s Invention Award for ten straight years from 1993 to 2003, as well as a Certificate of Appreciation Award from the U.S. Department of Energy in 2002. He currently serves as the president of the Detroit Chinese Engineers Association and volunteers his services to senior citizens and the disabled in the Midland, Michigan area.
