GM dealerships sponsor Algonquin College’s expedition through Africa

Toronto, Ontario – Two Toronto-area General Motors dealerships, Addison Chevrolet and Addison on Bay, have announced their sponsorship of Algonquin College’s “Small World, Big Picture – Expedition Africa Project”. As part of the sponsorship, Addison has donated two all-terrain GM trucks to carry team members, television crews and a satellite communication system across nine African countries over five months.

Led by adventure consultant and journalist Ben Webster, Expedition Africa began on September 14, 2006 and is scheduled to end in mid-February 2007. Travelling through nine African countries from north to south, the expedition team will provide first-hand accounts of their adventures, to provide a realistic perspective of the social and economic opportunities and challenges that exist in Africa. The Expedition Africa trek can be monitored online at AlgonquinCollege.com, which includes real-time video footage and audio clips, photographs and an expedition journal.
