Detroit, Michigan – General Motors has confirmed it has selected a company to supervise the orderly wind-down of Saab, but also said that it has received several proposals for the company and is continuing to evaluate them.
GM has selected AlixPartners to supervise the wind-down, and has requested approval of the selection by the appropriate authority in Sweden. The use of a wind-down supervisor is a common process in Sweden and works in the interest of the shareholder. The process is expected to take several months and is intended to ensure that employees, dealers and suppliers are adequately protected.
The company said that the appointment of AlixPartners does not affect the evaulations of proposals received.
