GM Canada donates over $2 million in damaged vehicles
Oshawa, Ontario – In 2004, GM of Canada donated over two million dollars worth of new vehicles and obsolete equipment to various groups for training and educational purposes. The vehicles may have been damaged beyond repair during shipment, in flash floods or by hail storms as an example. Vehicles that are damaged in this manner never see the dealership.
GM Canada’s donated vehicles provide a unique opportunity for students or emergency services personnel working on the vehicle to obtain an understanding of every GM vehicle.
“GM places education at the forefront of our donations programs,” said Stew Low, director, public relations, General Motors of Canada Limited. “GM is strongly committed to investing in the future, through our donation programs and sponsorships as well as in our operations and research and development activities.”
