GM Canada announces pricing for 2005 Pontiac Pursuit and G6, Buick Allure
Oshawa, Ontario – GM Canada announced the 2005 Pontiac Pursuit will have a base manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $15,925. The 2005 Pontiac G6 will start at MSRP of $24,670. The new 2005 Buick Allure will start at an MSRP of $25,200.
2005 Pontiac Pursuit
The Canada-only Pursuit is similar to the Chevrolet Cobalt. GM says it offers many standard features not typically found in small cars, such as air conditioning, electric rear defogger, CD player and driver information centre – and optional features such as heated leather seats, power sunroof, MP3 player and OnStar.
The new mid-size Pontiac G6 is built on GM’s Epsilon platform, and features a class-leading 2,852 mm (112.3-inch) wheelbase. The G6’s unique proportions allow unexpected features, including rear passenger door glass that rolls down all the way and the available Panoramic sliding roof – a four-panel, electronically operated glass roof. The G6 sedan currently is the only automobile in North America to offer this sliding roof design.
Initially, the G6 and G6 GT models will be offered with a new 3.5-litre V-6 engine, which is rated at 200 horsepower and 220 lb.-ft. of torque. An Ecotec 2.4 litre 170 horsepower 4-cylinder and a 3.9 litre 240 horsepower V6 will be offered next year.
Both vehicles arrive at Pontiac dealerships this fall.
The 2005 Buick Allure CX and CXL are powered by the proven 3.8 litre V-6, now in Series III form. Standard in the CXS is a new aluminum engine, the 3.6 litre V-6 with variable valve timing that delivers an estimated 240 horsepower.
Standard features include remote keyless entry, a power driver’s seat, power door locks, power windows, six-speaker stereo radio with CD player. Options include power sunroof, heated seats, steering-wheel-mounted audio and climate controls and stereo system upgrades including in-dash six-disc CD changer or MP3 player.
New optional safety/security features include side curtain air bags that deploy from the roof rail, StabiliTrak electronic stability control system, Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist, and factory-installed remote starting system – a first for any Buick car.
