Oakville, Ontario – Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Canada is asking St. Patrick’s Day Revelers to plan for a safe ride home after the party.
“Plan your transportation to and from your parties,” said Margaret Miller, MADD Canada National President. “If you find that you have had too much green beer, call #TAXI on any cell phone and get a taxi ride home. Remember that this weekend and on Monday, you don’t need the luck of the Irish to get home safely from your St. Patty’s party.”
By calling #TAXI (#-8-2-9-4) from a cell phone anywhere in Canada, a caller is connected to the first available taxi company or a preferred taxi company, with no busy signals. The service is available at all hours and costs the same or less than dialing 411.
CellWand Communications, the creator of the service, is the title sponsor of MADD Canada’s Campaign 911, a national initiative that asks Canadians to call 911 and report any suspected impaired drivers to police, as well as a sponsor of MADD Canada’s high school multi-media show and its annual Project Red Ribbon campaign.
