General Motors partners with Soul Train Music Awards

Los Angeles, California – General Motors announced its partnership with the 19th annual Soul Train Music Awards, which honours the best rhythm and blues, rap/hip-hop and gospel recordings of the year. As principal advertising sponsor, GM will be official presenter of the coveted Quincy Jones Award for Outstanding Career Achievements. The awards show was videotaped February 28 at Paramount Pictures Studio in Los Angeles.

The award was presented to Ice Cube (O’Shea Jackson) for his contributions to rap/hip-hop and the film industry.

The collaboration is part of GM’s California growth strategy and Find Your Style campaign, an integrated outdoor and online advertising campaign that addresses the styles and personalities of Californians. The campaign was launched in 2004 with an interactive website that prompts site visitors to select a GM vehicle based on their personality and lifestyle. The Soul Train Music Awards will be broadcast March 12.
