Funding for environmentally-friendly transportation projects announced in Nova Scotia and Ontario
Halifax, Nova Scotia – A project designed to contribute to a more environmentally-friendly transportation system in Nova Scotia has been selected to receive funding under the final round of the Moving On Sustainable Transportation program (MOST). The Ecology Action Centre will receive $25,000 for a project designed to increase awareness of the links between active transportation and health issues in Halifax and surrounding areas.
Funding totalling $60,000 for three projects in Ontario was also announced under the final round of MOST. The projects range from the promotion of active transportation, to collaboration with neighbourhood residents in the design of local transit growth plans. The funding will be divided among Go For Green, Green Communities Canada, and Toronto Environmental Alliance.
