Former Boeing president named head of Ford Motor Company
Dearborn, Michigan – The Ford Motor Company has announced that former Boeing chief, Alan Mulally, has been named President and CEO of the company; he has also been elected to the Board of Directors. Bill Ford will continue his duties as Executive Chairman of the company.
The 61-year-old Mulally spent 37 years at The Boeing Company, most recently as Executive Vice-President; he has also been President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes since 2001. He led the turnaround of the company’s commercial airplane division, and has a record of success in customer satisfaction, manufacturing, product development, labour relations and supplier management.
Bill Ford said he expected Mulally would assist Mark Fields and the Way Forward team on their accelerated business plan.
