Dearborn, Michigan – Ford has announced its new, redesigned 2007 Expedition and extended length Expedition EL models, which will feature improved comfort and capability, a standard Safety Canopy three-row curtain airbag, and AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control.
The 2007 Expedition features a bold new exterior design similar to the F-Series pickup truck, a 5.4-litre V8 engine with new six-speed automatic transmission, improved towing capacity, second-generation independent rear suspension, standard front row captain’s chairs, and seating for up to nine passengers. The Expedition’s frame has also been redesigned to further improve vehicle-to-vehicle compatibility in front-impact collisions. New options include 20-inch chrome-clad wheels, new DVD-based navigation system and a power liftgate.
A new extended length Expedition EL model is 381 mm (15 inches) longer than the standard Expedition, and has an additional 24 cubic feet of storage space behind the third row seat – 130 percent more than the standard model.
