Ford recalls 363,440 Escapes to repair stalling problem
Detroit, Michigan – Ford is recalling 363,440 Escapes, model years 2001-2003, with
3.0 litre V6 engines to fix an engine stalling problem that occurs when decelerating
at speeds below 60 km/h. The company reported that there have been eight alleged
minor accidents as a result of the problem, but said there was “no unreasonable risk
of accident or injury”.
The number of affected vehicles in Canada was not announced. The Escape is one of
Canada’s top-selling SUVs.
