Ford plans to increase truck business

San Antonio, Texas – Ford plans to extend the leadership of its best-selling line of pickups and commercial vehicles by growing its truck business even further this year.

The company has announced that its F-Series trucks are on track to deliver unprecedented “back-to-back” chart-topping sales for 2005, and promises to extend its stronghold by expanding in every segment of its commercial truck business. This month, it will introduce the new 2006 Ford LCF, or “low cab forward” tractor-trailer, the company’s first venture into low cab forward trucks.

Currently, two out of every five commercial trucks sold in the U.S. are Fords, and the company has outsold Chevrolet and Dodge combined for the last 16 years.
