Ford invites public votes for “Taking Style to the Edge” fashion challenge

Oakville, Ontario – Ford has announced its “Taking Style to the Edge Challenge”, leading up to L’Oreal Fashion Week in Toronto. Fashion designers are showcasing their creations, inspired by the Ford Edge, to vie for the Ford Fashion Award and a top prize of $5,000.

The public is invited to help choose the winning design by voting for favourites at FordStyle.ca until October 23. The top three designs are featured, by David Dixon, David Smith, and Engelbert Gayagoy. The contest is a partnership of the Ford Motor Company of Canada and the Fashion Design Council of Canada.

“We ran a contest featuring the Ford Edge around L’Oreal Fashion Week this spring and Canadians came to the Web site in droves,” says Reg Modjeski, manager, partnership and events, Ford of Canada. “Almost 4,000 ‘fashionistas’ logged on to cast their votes and help us choose the winning design, so we expect the competition to be fierce again this time.”
