Yonkers, New York – The new Ford Fusion Hybrid is now the top-rated domestic sedan by Consumer Reports and is essentially tied with the Toyota Camry Hybrid, the magazine reported in its tests.

The newly-freshened four- and six-cylinder versions of the Ford Fusion are “much improved and now compete with the best models in the category,” the magazine said. “All three versions were quieter and more refined than previous versions.”

The magazine also tested four- and six-cylinder versions of the freshened Kia Optima (sold as the Magentis in Canada) in its tests of family sedans for its September issue. All of the cars in the group are rated “Recommended” by the magazine.

In a test of compact luxury SUVs, also in the September issue, the Audi Q5 rated highest. Other vehicles in the tests include the Volvo XC60 and Mercedes-Benz GLK 350.
