Ford Fiesta celebrates thirty years

Cologne, Germany – The Ford Fiesta, Ford’s top-selling small car, celebrated its 30th anniversary with a 10 per cent increase in European sales through February. In the first two months of 2006, Ford sold 55,000 new Fiestas in Europe.

Ford’s most successful Western European market in February was the United Kingdom, where the company increased its sales to 16,700 vehicles, up from 15,600 a year ago; Ford is the U.K.’s top brand, with 17.7 per cent market share. In Germany, Ford’s top volume market, the company sold 17,900 vehicles in February, up 1,500 from February 2005, and increased its market share to 6.9 per cent. The company also marked strong sales performances in Russia and Turkey.
