Toronto, Ontario – The first winner of $10,000 has been named in the Make Things Better contest, presented by Toyota Canada and RBC Rewards. The ongoing contest will award a similar prize at its conclusion in December.

The winner, Noel Reid, filled out the winning ballot at the 2008 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto.

The contest is part of a new Toyota initiative to demonstrate at green shows, farm shows and other local events to show how Toyota vehicles fit into the lives of Canadian drivers. Ballots may be filled out at home shows in Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto and Montreal, and in Ottawa at the Go Green Show and the Canadian Outdoor Farm Show.

Canadians may also enter at ToyotaContest.

The theme of the contest, “Make Things Better”, is a call to Toyota Canada, Toyota dealers, and Canadians in general to reach out within the communities where they live and work. Woodbridge Toyota, where Reid picked up his cheque, is an active partner in the Toyota Evergreen Learning Grounds program and contributed $4,000 to the local community to transform asphalt and turf into natural learning environments.
