Mississauga, Ontario – Nissan has delivered its first 2007 Altima Hybrid to a customer, following the vehicle’s launch into the Canadian marketplace. Michael and Kate Lockwood of Brampton, Ontario purchased their vehicle from 401-Dixie Nissan earlier this month.
“I have been waiting for Nissan to bring out a hybrid due to my commitment to environmental quality and resource conversation,” says Michael Lockwood. “Every individual and organization must make efforts to improve long-term environmental sustainability. I applaud Nissan for being a good corporate citizen.”
The Altima Hybrid uses an advanced electric motor/generator, nickel metal hydride (Ni-MH) battery and hybrid management system, mated to a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine. The powertrain produces a net power of 198 hp, with fuel economy estimated at 5.6 L/100 km in the city and 5.9 L/100 km on the highway. Pricing for the Altima Hybrid starts at $32,998.
