First Mitsubishi vehicle sold in Canada
Toronto, Ontario – Canadian Mitsubishi dealerships officially open for business today, but the first Mitsubishi vehicle was sold last week at a dealership in Ontario . A blue Montero Sport LS was sold by Wilson Mitsubishi in London, Ontario.
“We were delighted at the gathering of people who stopped to look at the vehicles when they saw the carrier drive up,” said Penny Wilson, dealer principal of Wilson Mitsubishi. “We were thrilled when the customer walked up to us and said ‘I want to own a Mitsubishi and I want it to be that one.”
Wilson Mitsubishi is a 14,000 sq. ft. facility with a 10-car showroom that features four big television screens and a state-of-the-art sound system.
The second, third and fourth cars sold in Canada were sold by Woodchester Mitsubishi in the Erin Mills Auto Mall: a 2003 Eclipse Spyder, Galant and a bright yellow Lancer OZ Rally.
“We arranged our cars on the front lot by the busy corner of our dealership and had an unprecedented number of people driving right up onto the lot to take a look,” said Sandy Liguori, Woodchester Mitsubishi .. “They’d get right out of their cars and walk up to a sales person to ask questions and either buy or commit to buying.”
