Firestone tires have gone halfway around the world

Nashville, Tennessee – A custom-built six-wheeled Land Rover, named “Nyathi”, is halfway through a two-year, trans-world expedition on its Firestone Destination M/T tires. The vehicle will travel more than 150,000 km through sixty countries.

Drivers Michael Groves and Sandy Methven created the Land Rover specifically for the trip, and have been documenting the performance of the tires. The tires are the first Firestone brand light truck tire to incorporate the company’s exclusive UNI-T technology (for Ultimate Network of Intelligent Tire Technology), which enhances wet handling and braking.
