Firestone introduces touring tire for light trucks
Mississauga, Ontario – Firestone has introduced a new tire that brings passenger tire ride and comfort to the light truck/SUV market.
“The Destination LE is the latest addition to the Firestone Destination family,” said Phil Pacsi, executive director, North American consumer tire brand marketing, Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire, LLC. “We’ve positioned the Destination LE as the highway luxury touring tire in the Firestone Destination family. It joins the Destination M/T work truck and off-road tire to round out a line that will provide consumers with a range of light truck tire options. From the smoothest highway ride to the toughest off-road conditions, Firestone will offer a Destination tire to meet those varied needs.”
The Firestone Destination LE features a five-rib tread pattern with open shoulders for water evacuation. It is constructed with two polyester body plies and two steel belts covered by a spiral wrap ply to help the tire hold its original shape at higher speeds. The tire comes with outline white lettering on the sidewall, reversing to a blackwall.
The tire carries a UTQG rating of 480 for treadwear, “A” for traction, and “B” for temperature, and comes with a 60,000-mile limited treadwear warranty, the company’s Gold Pledge three-year limited warranty and the 30-Day test drive.
UNI-T stands for the Ultimate Network of Intelligent Tire Technology, a combination of technologies that improves three primary factors of a tire’s performance: the casing, the bead and the tread.
